Generally Court is held on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wednesday’s of the month.
Dates are subject to change by the court.
Some minor violations may be settled prior to the court date by pleading “Guilty” before a Magistrate and making payment of fines and court costs in compliance with the established Fee Schedule. In such case, a Court appearance is not required.
A ticket may be paid in person at the Court Office during regular office hours, by mail, or online. If paid in person, Identification must be presented. Mailed payments must include the ticket copy signed and dated by the Defendant.
Payments can be made with Debit/Credit cards, cash, or Money Order. NO PERSONAL CHECKS ARE ACCEPTED. DO NOT SEND CASH IN THE MAIL.
OBTAINING A WARRANT OF ARREST:
The Municipal Court Magistrate may issue warrants of arrest on Misdemeanor offenses. The incident should first be reported to the Police Department and an Incident Report made. The Police Officer may then refer the complainant to the Municipal Court Magistrate.
The Complainant will be placed under oath by the Magistrate and asked to give a sworn statement in writing. Should the Magistrate determine that there is sufficient evidence to establish probable cause that an offense was committed and that the person named committed the offense, then a warrant of arrest will be issued. The complainant will be required to appear in court in order to give testimony. Defendants are allowed to make bond according to the approved Bond Schedule.
